Carpet overlocking
The process of carpet overlocking is sewing a border around the edges of a carpet using an overlocking machine. This prevents the carpet from fraying and provides a stylish finish. When a home or office is carpeted, there is invariably carpet left over (offcuts). These offcuts can be turned into rugs or mats. Not only does this provide you with a useful product it is also better for the environment as the offcuts do not find their way into landfill. Old rugs can also be refreshed by having them re-overlocked.
Speedbinding
Commercial speedbinding is the process of finishing carpet edges by applying a pre-made tape or binding strip using a high-speed binding machine. The binding is sewn along the raw edges of the carpet, creating a clean, durable border that prevents fraying and gives a professional finish.
When commercial or office spaces are fitted with carpet, there are almost always offcuts and remnants left over. Rather than letting these go to waste, speedbinding transforms them into functional, polished rugs and mats — ready for use in reception areas, hallways, workstations, or at home. It's a cost-effective solution that also keeps unnecessary waste out of landfill.
Our commercial speedbinding machines can be used for standard speedbinding, 50mm binding and to create hidden edges depending on what finish best suites your space / purpose (see below for examples of each).

Non slip felt backing
Non slip felt backing is glued onto the back of a mat or rug and then overlocked into place - this ensures that it has a seamless attachment and is never coming off.
Non slip felt backing has many advantages including:
reduces the movement of your mat or rug on the floor
keeps the rug flat which reduces tripping risk
reduces the incidence of rugs buckling
protects the floor under the mat from scratches
Rug repairs
If you rug is looking ragged around the edges, we can remove the damaged section and then overlock to bring your rug back to life. We can also strengthen weakened rugs using our non slip felt backing.
